Our large community includes academic and support staff, postgraduate, undergraduate and diploma students. We enjoy facilities located on NUI Maynooth's historic South Campus including lecturing, studio and practice spaces. By looking through the site you will see that we offer lively undergraduate and postgraduate (taught and research) programmes.
The key areas of musicology, performance, composition and music technology lie at the heart of our activities. Our six varied ensembles, weekly lunchtime concerts and regular research seminars enrich students' learning and cultural opportunities.
The distinctive education we offer here is founded on traditional values enriched and enlivened by the diverse research expertise of our staff. The Music Department is a vibrant, stimulating and friendly place in which to study. Do take some time to find out more about our work, go on our blog (timbre) or contact us if you have further questions.
